Hip-Hop has evolved into an international language of creative expression.

Hip-Hop is more than music; it is a lifestyle.

But even as hip-hop grows every second of the day, some still don't consider it as music.

Hip-hop has been unnoticed from the Grammy's for years to the point where hip-hop mogul, Jay-Z, boycotted the Grammy's.

"I am boycotting the Grammy's because too many major rap artists continue to be overlooked. Rappers deserve more attention from the Grammy committee and from the whole world," said Jay-Z.

In 1989, the Best Rap Performance category was presented but it wasn't aired instead announced the winners prior to the telecast.

This year, hip-hop has hit a milestone marking the third time that two hip-hop albums are nominated for Album of the Year.
The hip-hop community is expanding and will continue expand within the Grammy's ceremony.
Despite the controversy with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis being labeled as hip-hop, do not be discouraged.
Hip-hop is not dead. Hip-hop has resurrected.
