Way Back Wednesday Pt.2: "Electric Relaxation" - A Tribe Called Quest

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the legendary Hip Hop collective Wu-Tang Clan debut album Enter The Wu-Tang(36 Chambers) and equally legendary group A Tribe Called Quest album Midnight Marauders, today's Way Back Wednesday will be 2 parts. The second part is from A Tribe Called Quest for their smash record "Electric Relaxation". Once this track released, it was an instant classic. Most remember this cut for being the theme for the hit sitcom "The Wayans Bros". It very smooth and laid back with ATCQ member Phife Dawg (mainly) spitting a wide array of bars with Q-Tip on the assist on providing his laid back style and flow of rap to the song. As soon as anyone hears this song, they know what it is because it's been a classic for the past 20 years and counting. Produced by Q-Tip, the beat contains samples from "Mystic Brew" by Ronnie Foster, "Outside Love" by Brethren and "Dreams" by Ramsey Lewis. "Electric Relaxation" will be remembered by everyone forever. Take a listen to this cut right above and part 1 of today's WBW is available right above this post.
