Way Back Wednesday Pt.1: "C.R.E.A.M." - Wu-Tang Clan

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the legendary Hip Hop collective Wu-Tang Clan debut album Enter The Wu-Tang(36 Chambers) and equally legendary group A Tribe Called Quest album Midnight Marauders, today's Way Back Wednesday will be 2 parts. The first part come Wu-Tang for their classic hit debut record "C.R.E.A.M.". There are record that come out get recognition and then fade out, "C.R.E.A.M." is not one of those songs. This cut has been a dope song for 20 years and counting. 9 cats from Staten Island, New York giving the people a visuals through lyrics of what life is like in the hoods of Staten Island or any hood for that matter (think about the time period). Even as gritty of a track as it is, "C.R.E.A.M." still became very successful and that launched a career for every other member of the group. Produced by clan member RZA, the beat contains a sample of "As Long As I've Got You" by The Charmels through the song. RZA also producer the whole 36 Chambers album. Wu-Tang Clan will be remembered forever for this track alone. Take a listen to this one right above, part 2 will be up later today.
